 Race to Recess Challenge!

Hey everyone, take part in H.O.P.E.'s Race to Recess Challenge, our new campaign to make sure kids are warm while out at recess!


Helping to provide school children in our community with the warm winter clothing they need outside in the snow has been something H.O.P.E. has been assisting local schools with for many years. In a normal year, those items could be washed and reused by other children, but with things as they are, this is no longer possible.

Please help us raise funds for this need by taking our Race to Recess Challenge!

 

Challenge your friends and family members to put on their winter gear as fast as possible to raise awareness for kids who go without these necessities at recess. Once you take the challenge, or are nominated, donate $10 at the link below, or $50 to just nominate someone else.

Our first challenge video is from our office manager, Jaime, and gives an overview of the types of items that are given to our local schools.

Our hope is to be able to purchase enough clothing items so every child in our school district can have something to wear while at recess.

This year has been a real struggle for all of us, and children are no exception. 

With all the changes that young students are experiencing, we want recess to be something they can all take part in.

A Parent's struggle

In the NEK of Vermont, we have one of the highest rates of poverty and that affects children as much if not more than adults. With the added stresses of limited shopping options and limited funds to purchase winter clothing for their children, parents are having to make tough choices this year. We are hoping to alleviate some of those stresses with the funds from this campaign.
